Is Jeanson Doing Real Science?

EvidencePress The following is from an Evidence Press YouTube discussion. See the video here: It is an interview Jim Bendewald completed with Nathaniel Jeanson.

DaveM Jeanson is a liar, he has never worked in the field, not in any lab or any research facilities anywhere outside of school , he sits in a cubicle and repeats what Ken Ham tells him to say or he is fired by contract. The statement of faith on AIG’s page is self explanatory.

EvidencePress Jeanson specifically states the research he did and the schools where he did the research. There are different kinds of research. How does that make him a liar? Jeanson published his book, Replacing Darwin in 2017. He previously worked with the Institute for Creation Research. It is customary for Christian schools, ministries and churches to have a statement of faith.

DaveM He researched stem cells in school and was going to cure cancer but decided working at ICR would better serve humanity, and his wallet. When your statement of faith says you will discount any and all evidence that goes against the bible you are no longer engaging in science. Genetic research requires a laboratory that AIG doesn’t have.

EvidencePress I don’t know what sort of deal he has with Answers in Genesis and their distributor Masterbooks, he hopefully is making some money from his book. He told me it was 8 years in the making. It is extremely unlikely that he would make anything close to what he could make in the secular world. Read his book or some of his articles. He is completely into evidence. The kind of research he is doing lately is reviewing what secular scientists have discovered and published. This is why his work is so powerful, he is using what others have published about mitochondrial DNA and other issues.

DaveM [The AiG statement of faith includes:] “By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the scriptural record. Of primary importance is the fact that evidence is always subject to interpretation by fallible people who do not possess all information.”

EvidencePress As I stated, various Christian organizations have statements of faith. Secular universities also have rules of faith when it comes to evolution. They may or may not be written and clear as the Answers in Genesis (AiG) statement of faith but they are just as real. When professors, educators, scientists from within secular universities go outside the evolution-only dogma they may be ostracized, prevented from given tenure (which happened to Guillermo Gonzalez), removed from their job (which happened to Richard Sternberg and Caroline Crocker). Students have their grades reduced and possibly worse for not towing the party line.

DaveM As I stated, when you throw facts in the garbage you do not like you are no longer engaging in science. all life changes and allele frequencies of populations change that’s a fact that’s what the theory states the facts. Being ignorant of science and evolution in the 21st century with the internet in your hand doesn’t change the facts, it makes one willfully ignorant.

Dr. Jeffrey Tomkins from the Institute for Creation Research responded to the above writing, “It is very common for bioinformatics researchers to use publicly available data and not have a big lab and its becoming more common as the databases grow.  In the field of genomics, more data is being generated than can be practically analyzed.”

Click on the graphic at the top to share your views.  What do you think of the fact that secular universities put tremendous pressure on professors, researchers and students to people to tow the evolution line? Do you have a different experience?
